Project Recruitment: Improving Training for Direct Service Workers in Kansas

The University of Kansas (KU) and Wichita State University (WSU) are working with the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) to develop online training courses for Direct Support Workers (DSW) in the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) program and are looking for volunteers to assist in the process.

If you are an individual who receives Home and Community Based Support, are a Direct Support Worker, family caregiver or other stakeholder, please consider an opportunity to advise on the DSW training development in one of the following ways:

  • Join the Training Advisory Council (TAC) with other stakeholders to advise on training topics, content, procedures, and other needs. The TAC meets by Zoom on 4th Tuesdays of the month from 10am-noon.
  • Review training materials and providing feedback. The time commitment varies, and payment is available
  • Test online training modules and providing feedback. The time commitment varies, and payment is available.
