Independent Living Counselor/WORK Program – Wichita Area

Independence, Inc. is a Center for Independent Living (CIL) in Lawrence, Ks. We participate in the Kansas Working Healthy/WORK (Work Opportunities Rewards Kansans) Program by offering Independent Living Counselor (ILC) services to WORK participants throughout the entire state of Kansas.  We currently have an exciting opportunity to fill our full-time Wichita Area ILC position. This is a remote, work-from-home position (must be local to the Wichita area) that covers WORK participants in the Wichita and surrounding area. ► Independent Living Counselor/WORK Program – Wichita Area

Are you interested in one-on-one support of a person’s independent living goals? We may be looking for you! Apply to be an Independent Living Counselor (ILC) and become part of our team of dedicated disability advocates as our Wichita area ILC. Essential functions of the position include: Customer focus – ability to provide excellent service to our clients. Communication – ability to listen to others and communicate in an effective manner with consideration for the impact and consequences. Ability to use correct grammar, spelling, sentence structure and communicate a message verbally and in writing. Attention to detail and analytical thinking – ability to approach a problem by using logical, systematic, and sequential approaches.

Note: Our organization’s primary location is in Lawrence, KS and together, our team of Independent Living Counselors cover the entire state of Kansas. This position is for a Wichita area ILC and may include light travel in and around the Wichita metro/surrounding areas to meet directly with consumers. Reliable transportation is a requirement.
