MICHAEL R TODD
1958 - 1996
RIGHTS FOR ALL |
As Mike's mother, I am very
proud of his Commemorative Brick. I know he would be proud of it.
He was a very strong believer in the rights of people with
disabilities. Once I
mentioned someone being handicapped.
He informed me, "Mom, there are no handicapped people; they
are ‘People with Disabilities.’"
Since then I have seen them the same way he did.
He worked so hard for the
disabled that he often neglected himself.
He didn't want others to know his disabling pain.
I was one of the few because he relied on my help when he needed.
He didn't want anyone to feel sorry for him.
Mike had no patience with the slow change. He wanted it all done "yesterday."
His motto was: "Equal Rights for everyone regardless of race,
creed, sex or capabilities." |
