The Olmstead v. L.C. Supreme Court decision clarified that undue institutionalization is discrimination based on disability under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This session will
train people in grassroots advocacy to assist with implementing the Olmstead decision in northeast Kansas. It will also provide information about system advocacy efforts underway for implementation of the Olmstead decision across Kansas. The training will be presented by attorney Kirk Lowry, of the Topeka Independent Living Resource Center.
