The reason we are asking people to fill out this survey is to learn more about what types of medical equipment people with disabilities have found hard to use. Later, we will make changes to some types of medical equipment, making them easier for people to use.
We
are looking specifically at four categories of medical equipment:
o Monitoring – such as thermometer, blood pressure cuff, cardiac stress test
o Imaging – such as x-ray, MRI, mammogram, ultrasound equipment
o Furniture/Fixtures – such as tables, chairs
o Manual Tools – such as defibrillator, dental drill
o Drug Therapy – such as syringes, infusion pumps, ventilators
o Physical Therapy – such as rehabilitation or exercise equipment
o For Mobility/Posture/Manipulation – such as wheelchair, brace, reacher
o For Sensory/Communication/Cognition – such as hearing aid, speech aid, personal digital assistant (PDA)
If you have a disability and have experience as a patient with any of these types of medical equipment, we invite you to volunteer to fill out our (RERC) survey.
You have a choice of four ways to take part:
