eBay Giving Works
Independence, Inc. is now listed with eBay Giving Works. This is a program that allows any eBay seller to donate a portion of the proceeds from an auction to a non-profit of their choice. To donate to Indy, just select us from the list of eligible Giving Works non-profits when setting up your auction. Then choose what percentage of the proceeds you wish to donate (10% to 100%). Your donation will be effortlessly and securely sent to Indy via electronic funds transfer.

An average of 10% of the proceeds are deducted for processing fees by Mission Fish, which also is a non-profit that eBay has designated to handle all Giving Works transactions . Lawrence GiveBack Program

Independence, Inc. is now one of several non-profit organizations that will benefit from the GiveBack card program. Anyone can use a GiveBack card at Checkers market or one of 18 local restaurants. Present your card when you pay (tax, tip and alchol not included) and 5% of the total goes to Independence, Inc. It's that easy!!!

There is no cost and the card is free either at Independence, Inc or any of the participating business. Then you can activiate the card on line (www.lawrencegiveback.com) or by mail! Shop for groceries, go to lunch and we get help!! Please tell your friends about this program....over a period of time we will see some financial benefit.

Computer/Technology Donations

Independence, Inc. consistently needs updated equipment for the daily business and educational activities. We welcome donations of electronic or competitive technological devices.

We Accept:
Working computers and equipment with:
- Microsoft Windows XP or newer
- Pentium 4 processor or newer
- Memory Sticks/ Flash Drives/ Thumb Drives
- Other devices on a case by case basis (see contact information below)
We Do Not Accept:
- Dirty electronics
- Non-functioning/ broken/ damaged equipment
- Overly outdated equipment
- CRT (large TV-like) monitors
- Television related equipment
- Satellite dishes or related equipment

Good Rule of Thumb: If it is more than 5 years old, it will have to be recycled unless it is specialized assistive technology.

Please back up any personal information you need to keep, and then delete those items. We will completely erase the computers we receive to preserve your privacy.

Please send a very detailed email to it-ticket@independenceinc.org with the type of equipment, any model numbers, and operating system if applicable. We will contact you about your equipment and arrange receipt or suggest a recycling company or other business that may need the equipment. If you would prefer, call 841-0333 and leave a detailed description with the receptionist.
